Meet Donna and Laura

Service That Sparkles

When Donna lost a family heirloom in the pool, Lora dove in, finding the diamond and making a new friend.

When MVP Holland member Donna reported a missing diamond from her ring, team members were immediately on the hunt to find it. The problem? Donna wasn’t sure where it went missing. She had visited the indoor pool but didn’t find it there herself. That day, team member Lora Dykstra was working at the desk and received the report. She and her teammates began to address the concerns, writing down any details they could gather and searching everywhere for the diamond. Team members combed the pool and hot tub, as they re-traced Donna’s steps. They left with no luck and the diamond remained missing.

Later that week, Lora decided to go for a swim. The memory of the missing ring was still fresh in her mind as she paddled. As she swam, she spotted the glint of something at the bottom of the pool. She dove to the bottom of the pool and was excited to see the missing diamond, sitting right next to the drain. Lora called the team members on duty and contacted Donna. Donna’s husband came immediately and explained that the ring was also a family heirloom, expressing gratitude for the search.

Now, Donna and Lora have struck up a friendship and often see each other around MVP. Their special bond is something that comes from a stressful situation turned happy. Thanks to the dedication of team members, Donna now has her ring back, safe and sound. We are so grateful for our team members, who not only put in the work to go above and beyond, but also care deeply for members. Helping others often isn’t about heroic gestures, but everyday actions that lead us to healthy, strong, and thriving communities that change lives.
