Meet Ben and Kyle

Fitness and Friendship

Ben and Kyle not only chased their fitness goals, they also built a lasting friendship.

After moving to Grand Rapids, Kyle Hein was looking for a gym to maintain his fitness routine. He visited MVP, and the friendly employees and positive energy made an immediate impression. After joining MVP Rockford last spring, Kyle has developed a consistent routine, enjoying the strength floor, pool, and cold plunge each week. Overall, he looks forward to his personal training sessions the most.

Kyle has participated in personal training for most of his life. After joining MVP, he wanted a trainer who could help with ongoing tightness and mobility issues and help take his fitness to the next level. That’s when he started sessions with Ben George. “I plateaued and was hoping to find someone to help me reach my goals,” Kyle said. “My wife and I recently had a baby, and I wanted to be able to sit with her, play, and not feel so stiff and achy while doing it.”

Ben’s favorite part about working at MVP is the community. He takes pride in creating a positive, encouraging atmosphere for his clients. “Enthusiasm is contagious. Helping people feel comfortable in an intimidating environment brings me more joy than words can describe,” he said.

Ben’s training philosophy was a perfect fit for Kyle, and he quickly saw results. Kyle felt less stiff, allowing him to enjoy more time with his wife and kids comfortably. Complimenting Ben’s expertise, Kyle was especially impressed by his character. “Ben’s knowledge base continues to push me to be better each session,” Kyle said. “If he makes a promise, he delivers. His energy is phenomenal, along with his character. He’s a unique man and trainer.”

Ben appreciated that he could learn from Kyle during their sessions as well. “Kyle has helped me understand the importance of being holistically in tune, whether it be emotional, spiritual, mental or physical,” he said. Ben was impressed by Kyle’s character as well, adding, “His empathy for others is one of a kind, he’s someone you truly want to have in your life.”

Through their sessions, Ben and Kyle not only chased their fitness goals, but they also built a lasting friendship. “Our relationship has never felt like a trainer-client dynamic. I consider him a very good friend—someone I can truly depend on!” Ben said.

For Kyle, the value of personal training at MVP went beyond chasing goals and seeing results. His training journey has allowed him to spend more quality time with his family and gain a close friend. “The health benefits are just a bonus,” he said.
