About: David Nykerk

I’m Dave! I’ve officially been in the fitness industry for the past 10 years of my life, but athletics and fitness have always played a big role in my life. I grew up in Holland, MI and have been drawn to sports and competition since a young age.
My passion for sports carried through high school and then eventually into playing at the University of Michigan. It was a dream come true but ultimately my time at Michigan was filled with set backs and disappointments due to countless injuries (4 surgeries in 3 years to be exact). Despite these challenges, I’m grateful for the lessons I learned in overcoming obstacles. I’m a strong believer in the parallels between life and sports and feel blessed that my athletic career led me down the path to pursue a career in health and fitness.
I find it very rewarding to play a small role in helping others with their transformation. It doesn’t matter to me if you are an aspiring athlete, a parent trying to stay healthy and keep up with your kids, or simply to move better and feel better! It’s my goal that in my blogs you will find practical advice that is applicable for you, no matter what your current fitness level, background, or goals are!
